Thierry Boutsen’s team confirmed it will enter both McLaren MP4-12C GT3 cars in the Pro-Am category of the series this season.
In the No. 15 McLaren Karim Ojjeh and Olivier Grotz will be joined by Fred Vervisch, who already raced for the team in 2013. The return of Vervisch to the Belgian team comes at the expense of Martin van Hove. The young Belgian driver was only announced to join the team last month, a decision that seems to have been overturned after the Official Test days at Paul Ricard.
The second car, No. 16, will see McLaren Automotive Test Driver Phil Quaife joined by Lebanese drivers Alex Demirdjian and Shahan Sarkissian.
Ahead of the 2014 season Boutsen Ginion Racing has lost one of its 2013 partners, as ALD Automotive announced it will join HTP Motorsport this season with Belgian driver Nico Verdonck.
Verdonck will race in the Blancpain Endurance Series with teammates Harold Primat and reigning Blancpain Endurance Series champion Maximilian Buhk. He joins the team after competing in the series with Gulf Racing in 2013.
“I am delighted to be working again with my long-time and loyal partner ALD Automotive, who now give me the opportunity to drive a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, one of the best and most successful GT cars of the last three years. I am looking forward to a great season in the Blancpain Endurance Series,” said Verdonck.
