WRT Audis 1-2 in Free Practice at Silverstone

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT topped the time charts in Free Practice for Sunday’s Blancpain Endurance Series round at Silverstone.

The No. 3 Audi R8 LMS ultra of Stephane Richelmi led the way in the 90-minute session, thanks to a 2:01.990 lap time by the Monegasque driver.

Richelmi’s time was 0.199 seconds quicker than the sister No. 1 Audi of Laurens Vanthoor, who posted a 2:29.189 lap early in the session.

The No. 12 TDS Racing BMW Z4 GT3 of Franck Perera was third overall and quickest of the Pro-Am class competitors, while Fabien Barthez led the way in the Am Cup aboard his No. 16 AKKA-ASP Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.

The session saw an early red flag for the No. 14 Emil Frey Jaguar, which had an off-course excursion.

Pre-qualiying gets underway at 4:30 p.m. local.
