Comtoyou Racing’s Lucas Legeret set the pace in the Free Practice session ahead of this weekend’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup finale at Zandvoort.
Legeret steered the No. 11 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II to a best lap of 1:34.937, beating out Boutsen VDS driver Aurelien Panis by 0.388 seconds.
Audi runners occupied the entire top three at the end of the 80-minute session on Friday morning, with Gilles Magnus slotting into third place aboard the No. 21 Comtoyou machine.
Albert Costa picked up fourth aboard the No. 69 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 with the No. 44 CLRT Porsche 911 GT3 R of Ayhancan Guven completing the top five.
Guven will share the car, which ran in the Bronze Cup in previous Sprint events, with DTM teammate Laurin Heinrich this weekend.
Maxime Martin took sixth behind the wheel of the No. 46 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3, leading teammate Charles Weerts by just 0.089 seconds.
Adam Eteki ended the session eighth in the second Boutsen VDS Audi, with Mattia Drudi ninth aboard the No. 40 Tresor Orange 1 machine.
Drudi and co-driver Ricardo Feller come into the event with a deficit of 7,5 points to the Akkodis ASP duo of Raffaele Marciello and Timur Boguslavskiy.
The championship-leading No. 88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo finished the session in eleventh place courtesy of a fastest lap from Marciello, slotting in behind Konsta Lappalainen’s No. 14 Ferrari.
The session was red-flagged twice, first when Harley Haughton spun the No. 18 GSM AB1 GT3 Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo into the gravel at Turn 13 and later when Haupt Racing Team’s No. 77 Mercedes stopped at Turn 9.
Pre-Qualifying at Zandvoort is scheduled for 3:20 p.m. CEST (9:20 a.m. EDT)
