Maro Engel and Luca Stolz will continue as co-drivers Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup working with their third different team in as many years.

The Mercedes-AMG factory pair will contest their third season of Sprint Cup together driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo run by German sports car and rally team Toksport WRT.

Their alignment with Toksport for the five-round campaign comes after previous spells with Black Falcon in 2019 and Haupt Racing Team last year.

Engel and Stolz had already been confirmed to drive for Tokspoort WRT in ADAC GT Masters, extending a driver-team relationship that started at the tail end of 2019.

The duo finished fifth in last year’s GTWC Europe Sprint Cup standings with HRT and third in GT Masters with Toksport, achieving victories across both championships.

Toksport WRT is set for its maiden campaign in the Pro ranks of Sprint Cup after fielding a pair of Silver Cup entries in 2020.

One of its Silver pairings – Juuso Puhakka and Oscar Tunjo – will return for a second season while Toksport is also making its Endurance Cup debut this year in Silver.

Engel and Stolz are currently at Paul Ricard taking part in the official GTWC Europe pre-season test.

Toksport and AKKA-ASP are Mercedes-AMG’s Pro-class representatives in Sprint Cup. HRT is not returning to the series as it instead focuses on a two-car DTM program.

Engel and Stolz will continue to represent HRT in Endurance Cup, sharing a car with Vincent Abril.
