Estre Puts GPX Porsche On Top in Spa Night Practice

Kevin Estre put the GPX Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R on top of the pile during a trouble-free night practice session for the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The Porsche factory driver posted a time of 2:20.290 in the car he shares with his FIA World Endurance GT co-champion Michael Christensen and Richard Lietz.

Estre’s effort eclipsed Daniel Serra’s provisional chart-topper in the HubAuto Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 by 0.277 seconds, while Mirko Bortolotti slotted into third with the No. 63 GRT Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3.

The GPX Porsche is one of the 20 cars taking part in Friday’s qualifying shootout that will determine the pole sitter for this weekend’s Intercontinental GT Challenge and Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup round.

HubAuto Corsa’s IGTC-entered Ferrari also made the cut, while the GRT Grasser Lamborghini fell outside the cutoff.

Fourth-quickest in night practice was Dries Vanthoor who clocked in at 2:21.002 behind the wheel of the No. 2 Audi Sport Team WRT R8 LMS GT3 Evo.

This was the car that recorded the second-best three-driver average in Thursday qualifying.

The No. 563 Orange 1 FFF Racing Team Lamborghini, which ran sixth out of 72 cars in qualifying, ended night practice in fifth ahead of the No. 117 KÜS Team75 Bernhard Porsche.

Mercedes-AMG’s highest-placed entry was the Silver Cup No. 90 AKKA ASP machine in seventh, while the Nos. 108 and 107 M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3s ran together in 17th and 18th.

The fastest BMW M6 GT3 was the No. 42 Team Schnitzer entry in 25th overall, three positions higher than the leading KCMG Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.
