Jesse Krohn will step into Team WRT’s Bronze Cup lineup for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup finale at Barcelona.
Confirmed as part of a 54-car entry for the Spanish event, the BMW factory driver will join Lewis Proctor and a returning Tim Whale aboard the No. 31 BMW M4 GT3.
The Finnish driver replaces fellow factory star Jens Klingmann, who joined the team alongside Darren Leung at the Nürburgring as season regular Whale was sidelined with a back injury.
Krohn last contested a GTWC Europe event when he drove the M4 GT3 as an Invitational entry at the 2021 Barcelona finale ahead of the car’s customer rollout.
Also in Bronze Cup, Mercedes-AMG factory driver Lucas Auer returns to GetSpeed Performance’s ranks for the first time since the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, teaming with Florian Scholze and Patrick Assenheimer aboard the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
“With Lucas in the team, our bronze car, which has had a lot of bad luck this year, is also in a strong position,” said team principal Adam Osieka.
“The competition is strong, especially in this class. Nevertheless, I’m convinced that a podium finish is on the cards.”
Elsewhere on the entry list, American Fanatec GT regular Manny Franco is set for his European debut with AF Corse. He joins Lilou Wadoux and Cedric Sbirrazzuoli aboard the No. 53 Ferrari 296 GT3 in Silver Cup.
Andrea Bertolini returns to the cockpit of AF Corse’s No. 52 car after the veteran Italian missed the last Sprint Cup round at Valencia, where he was replaced by Jef Machiels.
Pierre-Louis Chovet is also set to make his Endurance Cup debut, replacing Rolf Ineichen aboard the No. 19 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 alongside Michele Beretta and Leonardo Pulcini.
Finally, ST Racing with Rinaldi has brought in European Le Mans Series racer Lorcan Hanafin to pilot the No. 38 Ferrari in place of Jon Miller.
Two teams are absent from the Barcelona finale, with Bronze Cup squads AGS Events and Team Parker Racing both not taking part.
