McLaren squad Optimum Motorsport will contest the full GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season for the first time this year after revealing an expanded two-car entry.
The team will field a Silver Cup-entered McLaren 720S GT3 Evo in the full campaign with Mikey Porter continuing with the squad after finishing sixth in the Gold class in last year’s Endurance Cup.
He will be partnered by Guilherme Oliveira, who has previous McLaren experience in the series with Garage 59, while Dante Rappange will tackle the Endurance Cup events with a third different brand in as many years, having previously raced an Aston Martin and Lamborghini.
This crew will then be joined by a second Endurance Cup Optimum entry, which will tackle the Gold Cup and will be spearheaded by Adam Smalley.
The Briton was an outright race winner at the wheel of a Garage 59 McLaren last season and will be paired with series rookies Harry George – a frontrunner in British GT4 in 2025 with Optimum – and Freddie Tomlinson.
“I’m extremely proud of the team and what we have achieved over the last decade,” said Optimum Motorsport boss Shaun Goff.
“We’ve gone from strength to strength, and this year will be our seventh season in GT World Challenge Europe, where the level of competition is world-class.
“Entering the Sprint Cup for the first time, and fielding two cars in the Endurance Cup, each with incredibly strong driver lineups, marks yet another new chapter for Optimum Motorsport, following our Macau GT Cup debut at the end of 2025, and then our first time out at Bathurst 12 Hour last month.”
