Porsche factory driver Thomas Preining has joined the Lionspeed GP squad for this year’s GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, driving its No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo alongside team regular Ricardo Feller and the already-announced Bastian Buus in the Endurance Cup.

Preining won the 2023 DTM title at the wheel of a Porsche and has competed for a variety of squads in GTWC Europe using the German manufacturer’s machinery, including with Pure Rxcing last season.

He will now drive for Lionspeed GP for the first time as the squad steps up to the Pro class for a maiden outright attack.

The Austrian will be partnered by 2024 Nürburgring 24 winner Feller, who was a podium finisher in the Bronze Cup division with Lionspeed in GTWC Europe last year.

Feller also has title-winning GTWC Europe experience having claimed the 2023 Sprint Cup honors in an Attempto Racing-run Audi.

Buus had previously been confirmed in the car, while the sister No. 89 Bronze entry’s lineup had also already been revealed as Alex Fontana, Patrick Kolb and Bashar Mardini.
