Smalley Quickest in Shortened Spa Warmup

Adam Smalley was quickest in a shortened warmup session for the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

Smalley’s Bronze class No. 188 Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo posted a best time of 2:15.487, edging out the No. 48 Team Mann-Filter Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo by 0.071 seconds in the Friday evening session.

Porsche Carrera Cup North America points leader Loek Hartog was third quickest in the No. 97 Rutronik Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, with the No. 5 Optimum Motorsport McLaren and No. 911 Pure Rxcing Porsche completing the overall top-five.

The session, which started late due to a delay in track action from earlier in the day, was cut short by nine minutes due to a red flag for an unknown reason.

SRO Motorsports Group had not publicly communicated the reason for the red.

The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa gets underway Saturday at 4:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. EDT) with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
