Canadian squad ST Racing has added a Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup program with Ferrari alongside its SRO America plans with BMW.
Samantha Tan’s team will receive technical support from Rinaldi Racing for its first attempt at the five-round Endurance Cup series.
It is also running a BMW M4 GT3 in GTWC America, but will be able to complete both seasons because the two SRO Motorsports Group championships have no date clashes.
ST Racing with Rinaldi will field a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 at the start of the European season before switching to the new Ferrari 296 GT3 when one becomes available.
Samantha Tan, who is teaming up with John Edwards in GTWC America, will share the wheel of the Ferrari with Jon Miller and one other driver.
“With heavy focus on our growing BMW GT program in the US, we decided to change the way we race in Europe this year,” said team principal Kenneth Tan.
“In Rinaldi, we’ve got one of the best racing teams there to support our race car. Rinaldi Racing is highly respected by the factory and has an impeccable reputation with a proven track record.
“I am very happy to work with them and also very excited to go to Monza next month to watch Samantha compete in one of the most competitive series with one of the top teams.
“I am a big BMW fan but I am also a big Ferrari fan.”
Tan’s daughter Samantha has experience in Ferrari challenge machinery, but this will mark her first appearance in the manufacturer’s GT3 model range.
She formed part of ST Racing’s lineup for its 24 Hours of Spa debut with BMW last year, when it received support from Bas Koeten Racing. ST also competed in the 24H Series.
“I am beyond excited to be announcing our participation in GTWC Europe with Rinaldi Racing,” said Samantha Tan.
“They are one of the top Ferrari teams in the business, and I look forward to competing on a new platform, the 488 GT3, in one of the most competitive GT3 series on the globe.
“I am pleased to be able to work with Jon again and learn from his expertise this year, and I can’t wait to kick off the season in April.”
ST Racing’s program partner Rinaldi is returning to the Endurance Cup after one season away.
Last year the German squad contested the European Le Mans Series with Ferrari GTE machinery and the Michelin Le Mans Cup in LMP3.
