Title-winning GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS squad Ziggo Sport Tempesta will switch to Porsche machinery for this season after entering a new partnership with Herberth Motorsport.
The Ziggo Sport Tempesta entry took the Bronze Cup title in 2024 with an AF Corse-operated Ferrari 296 GT3, having previously topped that division in the Endurance Cup the year before using a McLaren 720S GT3 administered by Garage 59.
However, it has opted to switch allegiances again for this year, this time swapping to Porsche with the familiar combination of Chris Froggatt, Eddie Cheever III and Jonathan Hui tackling the Endurance Cup, although Hui will only make selected appearances.
Cheever will also be at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo for the Sprint Cup, alongside a yet-to-be-determined team-mate.
“I am excited for the new challenge ahead and to be partnering with Herberth Motorsport after a successful Spa 12 Hours last year,” said Froggatt.
“The new Porsche GT3 R Evo looks to be a competitive package, and I am excited to get behind the wheel and see how the car is to drive.
“I am confident that this year should be a strong year for the team; we have got our conventional lineup in myself, Eddie, and Jonathan for Monza and Spa; and we will be joined by other competitive Bronze drivers for the remainder of the endurance races.
“Eddie will be taking on the Sprint Championship with the goal of getting back to Le Mans and having a second try at the most famous endurance race in the world.
“This is really the goal for the year, and we believe we have the package and the support to get us there. I am very excited for the season ahead.”
Ziggo Sport Tempesta is part of a record-breaking 45-strong entry for the Sprint Cup that was revealed on Thursday, while the Endurance Cup field again stands at a capacity 59 cars.
