SUPER GT has confirmed its 2026 schedule will be made up of just seven races this year after the indefinite postponement of the Sepang round.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the Sepang 300km, scheduled for June 19-21, will not be able to proceed as planned owing to the Middle East conflict that has both raised fears of fuel shortages and inflated freight and air fare prices.

The chances of a replacement race being added to the schedule were always deemed low, however, owing to scarcity of dates and cost concerns.

Now it has been confirmed by the GTA that the 2026 calendar will comprise seven races, starting with this weekend’s Okayama 300km, with any return to Sepang officially delayed to “2027 or later”.

Not since 2004, the final year of the JGTC era, has the season comprised so few points-paying rounds, although an end-of-year exhibition race was held at the end of that year at California Speedway.

It also locks in a three-month gap between what are now the second and third rounds of the season at Fuji Speedway.

Qualifying for this weekend’s Okayama opener is set for 2 p.m. local time on Saturday (1 a.m. EST), while the 300km race begins Sunday at 1:20 p.m. (12:20 a.m. EST).

2026 SUPER GT Schedule (Revised):
April 11-12 – Okayama International Circuit
May 3-4 – Fuji Speedway
Aug. 1-2 – Fuji Speedway
Aug. 22-23 – Suzuka Circuit
Sept. 19-20 – Sportsland Sugo
Oct. 17-18 – Autopolis
Nov. 7-8 – Mobility Resort Motegi
