Sorry, but I still don’t look at either the ESM cars or the WTR/Action Express cars and think that looks like a Nissan and that’s a Cadillac. At least the Mazda looks substantially different from the base car. Still don’t think Mazda when I see though. I have to wonder who this marketing is aimed at.

Really? The Action Express cars do have that Cadillac look. And, I am just starting to see the Nissan in the ESM cars. Love this variety.

Really? I see the stock Dallara in the “Cadillac”. I don’t see any significant changes to the look of the original chassis.

Maybe you haven’t seen a Cadillac lately because ithey definitely have the styling cues. It’s about styling cues. They are prototypes, not GT

Actually Imsa stated that the manufacturer would be required to make brand specific bodywork to change the appearance of the stock P2 chassis. Nissan was told that their first submission wasn’t a far enough deviation from the stock chassis, yet here is Cadillac barely changing the shape of front fenders and calling it done. Somehow they’ve been allowed to run what is almost exactly a stock Dallara. I call shenanigans.

And your “styling cues are the shape of glass the headlights sit behind. I call that laziness and not keeping with the spirit of the rules they agreed to.

Looks like a Mazda to me. I don’t see any connection with the others.

With a win, Scott Pruett can pass Hurley Haywood for most wins all time at Daytona. Gotta respect that.

Bill Auberlen is just 3 Career Wins behind Pruett

The Sun Energy #75 Mercedes looks amazing.

The #10 Cadillac looks like it has a pair of diesel truck horns over the cab.

Agree: the Sun Energy Mercedes has an absolutely great livery.
And to all who think that there are any Cadillacs or Mazdas in the field: these are Rileys and Dallaras with ESR (Cadillac) and AER (Mazda) engines. Everything else is just branding and merchandising; absolutely no GM or Mazda technology inside.

I’m not really sure what this guy has a problem with…he surely shows his immaturity though…but he somehow knows a few things about me, but is also wrong about things too. Still, not sure what his malfunction is…he does act quite childish as you can see…

The Nissan’s front end shares a bit of the failed GT-R LM Nismo just look at them side by side you can see the not so slight resemblance. The Mazda has cues front he the road car grill only on a smaller scale. The caddy thought has it’s own design, those wheels are Caddy

  16. Michael coter

    January 6, 2017 at 6:40 pm

Oh yeah the lights and the the sharp angled body are also Caddy as well

    • Jimmy

IMO the prototype class looks all the same and rather boring. I’m going to concentrate on the GTLM class. It’s like the prototype class is going back to the ugly pre 2010 look. Got my tickets yesterday but not That exciting. Oh well
