With just four months to go before the 2014 running of the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi, teams can now officially register their entry for the end of the season race at the Yas Marina Circuit.

The first, provisional entry list is set to be published next week.

One of the interested operations is former British GT squad Brookspeed. The team wants to return to the top level in motorsport, resulting in the creation of the Brookspeed Bentley Racing Club (BBRC), a crowdfunding project that aims to find 500 members, each donating £1,000 ($1,678) to run a new Bentley Continental GT3.

A build slot for the Bentley has been reserved and, if the project is successful, the car will make its race debut in the around-the-clock enduro in Abu Dhabi.

The British squad has already announced 1988 Le Mans winner and former Bentley Boy Andy Wallace will be one of its drivers. Wallace will be joined by his 1995 Harrods McLaren Le Mans teammate Justin Bell and Bell’s business manager James Guess, with Derek Bell supporting them from the pit wall.

British GT squad Triple Eight Race Engineering also announced it will enter the Gulf 12 Hours with a BMW Z4 GT3.

The British team announced Jody Firth and Warren Hughes in a third BMW for the remainder of the British GT Championship last week, as well as confirming that the duo will race in Abu Dhabi.

Triple Eight will also take part in the Blancpain Endurance Series season finale at the Nürburgring, in September.

A last-minute entrant in the Spa 24 Hours last month, Molitor Racing Systems is planning to run two cars in the fourth edition of the event.

Like last year Molitor is looking at options to run one of its McLaren MP4-12C GT3 cars, as well as a Porsche 991 Cup car.
