SRO Motorsports Group and GTA Co. Ltd. have reached an agreement that will see the creation of a specific Balance of Performance regulations for FIA GT3 cars competing in the GT300 class of Super GT.

Starting next year, all GT3-spec cars will adopt a modified version of the Blancpain GT Series BoP, which will take into consideration the features of the Super GT circuits.

The announcement was made between SRO CEO and founder, Stephane Ratel, and GTA Chairman Masaki Bandoh during the Super GT season finale at Motegi last weekend.

Super GT had used the FIA’s GT3 BoP tables up until the end of last year, when it switched to the SRO’s system.

“I expect that this agreement will realize finer BoP adjustments in the GT300 class and ensure higher fairness for all teams,” Bandoh said.

“I am also looking forward that this collaboration will expand further cooperation with SRO who is one of the world renowned promoters.”

Ratel added: “I want to assure GTA and all Super GT teams and drivers of our commitment to contribute, with a fair and accurate BoP, to the growing success of the GT3 category in Super GT and hope it will encourage more Japanese Manufacturers to produce GT3 Competition cars.”
