Jorge De La Torre has been released from Hartford Hospital following surgery to repair multiple fractures from an accident in last month’s Pirelli World Challenge round at Lime Rock Park.

The 25-year-old Mexican owner/driver has returned to his home in Texas to begin rehabilitation, for what appears to be an expected full recovery.

“I want to thank everyone for having me in their thoughts and prayers,” De La Torre said in a statement provided by Aston Martin Racing. “I also want to thank my race team, fellow drivers, Aston Martin Racing and the Pirelli World Challenge Series for all their support.

“A special thank you to my parents for supporting me since day one. With the help of physical therapy, I look forward to returning to the series soon.”

There has still been no further update on the condition of Andrew Palmer, who sustained a head injury in the accident with De La Torre.
