Erstwhile race leader Dane Cameron has been forced to take the No. 6 Team Penske Acura ARX-05 behind the wall to replace a faulty alternator, the first hiccup in the car’s debut race.

The No. 6 entry had been leading the Rolex 24 at Daytona and was just one of just four cars running on the lead lap in the Prototype class before the problems struck.

Cameron remains behind the wall at the time of this posting and has fallen to 12th place, 13 laps behind the race leader Eric Curran.

Curran inherited the lead in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R and holds an advantage of over 20 seconds over the sister No. 5 entry with Filipe Albuquerque at the controls.

Helio Castroneves has the No. 7 Acura in the third position a further 13 seconds back and is the final driver on the lead lap.

Sebastien Bourdais leads Scott Dixon in GT Le Mans with the No. 66 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT less than a second out in front on the No. 67.

GT Daytona is led by Franck Perera in the No. 11 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
