Premat Scores Sebring Pole in RS1 Porsche

Alexandre Premat has scored pole for Thursday’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge round at Sebring International Raceway for RS1.

The ex-Audi LMP1 and DTM ace set a best lap of 2:11.010 in his No. 28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

It was 0.032 seconds quicker than Luca Mars, who qualified second aboard his No. 60 KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4.

Premat will share driving duties with Stevan McAleer in the two-hour Alan Jan Automotive Network 120.

Kenny Murillo completed the top-three in the No. 72 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4, meanwhile.

The No. 8 McCann Racing Porsche of Michael McCann was fourth, while Alan Brynjolfsson was fifth in the Wright Motorsports-run VOLT Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

TCR pole honors went to the Mason Filippi, who led a Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai sweep of the front row and six in the top seven positions in class.

Filippi reeled off a best lap of 2:14.446 to edge out BHA teammate Robert Wickens by 0.071 seconds.

It marked Filippi’s first career pole position.

Harry Gottsacker was third in the No. 98 Hyundai Elantra N TCR, followed by Roy Block in the No. 5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR, who was fourth in class.

BHA Hyundais from Taylor Hagler, AJ Muss and Michael Johnson, meanwhile, qualified in positions five through seven.

The Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 gets underway Thursday at 4:25 p.m. ET with live coverage on Peacock and IMSA Radio.
