Acuras Continue to Dominate; Jarvis Out Front at Halfway

The Acuras continue to lead at the halfway point of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen with Oliver Jarvis in control of the race aboard the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05.

The No. 31 Action Express Cadillac DPi-V.R. of Pipo Derani was forced to take an extra trip down pit lane after work was completed on the car in a closed pit lane.

After serving his penalty, Derani came out just ahead of the then-leading No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura, and eventually rejoined the back of the back of the field after a safety car was deployed.

Points were awarded at halfway for the Michelin Endurance Cup, which provisionally sees Jarvis and co-driver Tom Blomqvist take over the DPi points lead.

Numerous yellow flags were brought out following the first hour.

A brief yellow was shown for a spinning No. 13 AWA car. A dramatic engine failure for the No. 6 Muehlner Motorsports Duqueine D08 Nissan LMP3 entry slowed the field once again.

Lars Kern would later bring out the fifth yellow just prior to the two-hour mark after a collision with the barriers, which saw his Duqueine retire from the race. Kern climbed from the car under his own power.

The No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of Anders Fjordbach leads in the LMP2 category, while the LMP3 field is headed up by Nolan Siegel in his No. 30 Jr III Racing Ligier JS P320 Nissan.

The No. 36 Andretti Autosport car was handed a drive-through penalty after being deemed responsible for contact with Kay Van Berlo in the No. 74 Riley Motorsport entry.

The No. 25 MW M Team RLL of Augusto Farfus cycled back tot he lead of the GTD Pro field after another round of pit stops. 

Behind, the No. 3 Corvette Racing Corvette C8.R GTD had been charging through the field after qualifying sixth in the GTD Pro class.

The Jordan Taylor and Antonio Garcia-driven Corvette was running in second before being handed a drive-through penalty for multiple track limits violations.

While running third in class, GTD points-leading No. 32 Team Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Dirk Mueller suffered a lower right front suspension damage after contact with the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac of Alex Lynn.

The car was brought into pit lane for repairs and was eventually brought back out after losing nine laps.

Just prior to the halfway point, The No. 21 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Toni Vilander was pushed behind the wall after rear suspension damage suffered after colliding with the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Zacharie Robichon.

At the front of the GTD class, Jordan Pepper leads in his No. 70 Inception Racing Mclaren 720S GT3.
