Glickenhaus Absent from Bahrain Finale

Glickenhaus Racing will not contest the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship season.

The American squad is not listed on the 37-car entry list for the event released on Wednesday.

Jim Glickenhaus previously told Sportscar365 that his outfit could “possibly” contest the event after sitting out the Fuji round.

That does not appear to be the case, however, with five cars entered into the Hypercar category in Bahrain.

FIA Endurance Commission President Richard Mille previously said the championship would be willing to be “flexible” with regards to Glickenhaus’s potential absence from the series’ two flyaway rounds.

As a result of Glickenhaus’ absence, the Hypercar class is identical to the previous round at Fuji.

The class consists of two-car entries from Toyota and Peugeot, joined by Alpine’s A480 Gibson for what will be the car’s last race appearance.

The entry list also further confirms that Porsche will not race its 963 LMDh at Bahrain, as previously reported by Sportscar365.

The rest of the entry list remains largely unchanged compared to previous races.

In LMP2, both Nico Mueller and Rene Rast return to the grid after their Fuji absences.

The two drivers were unable to race due to a clash with DTM, but step back into their respective lineups at Vector Sport and Team WRT in Bahrain.

Similarly, Nick Cassidy is back aboard the No. 54 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo after Davide Rigon replaced him at Fuji.

ARC Bratislava also returns after a one-race absence, with Miko Konopka’s two teammates yet to be confirmed.

The remainder of the grid has undergone no changes, with five cars in GTE-Pro and 13 entries in GTE-Am.
