Iron Lynx Wins Appeal Against Monza Disqualification

Iron Lynx has been declared GTE class winners from the 4 Hours of Monza after winning its appeal against the car’s initial disqualification from the third round of the European Le Mans Series season.

The No. 60 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo of Davide Rigon, Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni had crossed the line first in the July 3 race but was later excluded due to the car being pushed to Parc Ferme after the checkered flag by the sister No. 83 Iron Dames Ferrari.

It was confirmed on Thursday the Italian squad won its appeal before the National Appeal Court of the FFSA.

As a result, the driving trio and team have been awarded 25 points for the class victory at Monza and have moved into second place in the GTE standings, 13 points behind the No. 77 Proton Competition Porsche crew of Christian Ried, Gianmaria Bruni and Lorenzo Ferrari.

The Proton squad had initially inherited the win in Monza due to the No. 60 Ferrari’s disqualification.

The ELMS returns to action this weekend with the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, which marks the penultimate round of the season.
