Nissan Presents Z GT4 at SEMA

Nissan has unveiled its new GT4 car to the public for the first time at the SEMA show in Las Vegas while also unveiling new technical details about the car.

The Nissan Z GT4, first shown by the Japanese automotive giant back in September, can be seen in new images with a red and black livery sporting the No. 23 roundel on the hood that harkens back to Nissan’s early racing liveries from the 1970s.

The car is powered by a tuned version of the VR30DDTT 3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine also found in the road car and produces 450 horsepower, although the exact output is subject to Balance of Performance parameters.

It measures at 4,380 mm in length and 1,870 mm in width, weighing in at an estimated 1,410 kg (3,108 lbs.) depending on BoP.

The Z GT4 sports 18 x 10.5 inch wheels at the front and 18 x 11 inch at the rear and is priced at $229,000 USD.

Nissan has stated that it intends to provide cars to ‘pilot customer teams’ to race in the Pirelli GT4 America series and the Super Taikyu Series in Japan with technical support from NISMO.

It will then accept customer orders from mid-2023, with deliveries scheduled for 2024.

Nissan returns to GT4 competition for the first time since 2018, when the 370Z GT4 raced full-time in the British GT Championship.

A concept version of the new car was previously entered into this year’s Fuji 24 Hours and also appeared in other Super Taikyu rounds prior to its unveiling.

Additionally, Michael Carcamo, Nissan’s sports car global program director, indicated that the car has undergone testing on U.S. soil as well.

“The SEMA Show is an ideal place to debut our Z GT4 to racers, enthusiasts and the entire industry,” said Carcamo.

“We are in the throes of preparing for the 2023 racing season – testing here locally this past weekend – and we look forward to continuing to talk with teams and continue to establish the Z as a force to be reckoned with on tracks around the world.”
