MRS GT-Racing will field an all-Kuwaiti driver lineup for next weekend’s inaugural Hankook 12H Kuwait.

The German squad will enter a Porsche 911 GT3 R under the Team Kuwait banner for drivers Zaid Ashkanani, Ahmad Al Ghanem and Mohammed Al Kazemi in the 24H Series powered by Hankook season finale at Kuwait Motor Town.

Ashkanani, who won the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East championship in 2013-14, took part in a partial series campaign in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS in 2019 and was part of Kuwait’s entry in the 2019 FIA Motorsport Games GT Cup alongside two-time 24H Dubai class winner Khaled Al Mudhaf.

The Red Bull athlete will be joined by Al Ghanem, a former Spanish Formula 3 racer, and long-time jet ski racer Al Kazemi, who most recently competed in the UAE’s Gulf Radical Cup.

All three drivers will be making their 24H Series debuts, as part of a 21-car overall entry for the race.

Among the other GT3 class entries include a Team GP-Elite Porsche, ARC Bratislava Lamborghini Huracan GT3, and CP Racing’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

There are also entries spread across the GTX, 992, GT4 and TCR and TC classes.

Official on-track action gets underway on Thursday with Free Practice followed by a 90-minute qualifying session later that afternoon and night practice.

The race begins at 12 p.m. local time on Friday.
