IMSA LS Group Performance will start the Hankook 24H Barcelona from pole position after the French team came out on top in a qualifying session shortened due to adverse weather.

Creventic’s three-stage qualifying session was cut short due to heavy rain on Friday, with only a shortened first session completed before Q2 and Q3 were canceled altogether.

As a result, the GT grid for the 24th edition of the Spanish enduro was based on times set during the truncated opening session.

Laurent Hurgon, driving the No. 76 Porsche 911 GT3 R, led the way with a best lap of 2:03.875 in the car he shares with Julien Andlauer, Gregory Guilvert and Simon Tirman.

The No. 903 Red Ant Racing Porsche 992 GT3 Cup of Ayrton Redant, Yannick Redant, Kobe de Breucker and Huub van Eijndhoven secured the 992-class pole in second place overall.

WTM by Rinaldi Racing’s No. 22 Ferrari 296 GT3 completed the top three, joined on the second row of the grid by the No. 23 Car Collection Motorsport Porsche of “Hash,” Ivan Jacoma, Alex Fontana and Yannick Mettler.

Herberth Motorsport qualified sixth behind Willi Motorsport by Ebimotors’ 992-class Porsche but ahead of the No. 21 HAAS RT Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

The No. 11 Hofor-Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 was the only other GT3 car in the overall top ten in ninth place, sandwiched between the No. 906 Richardson Racing Porsche and the No. 714 Razoon – More Than Racing KTM X-Bow GT2, which took pole in the GTX class.

Scherer Sport PHX, as well as JUTA Racing’s pair of Audis, the No. 90 E2P Racing Porsche and CP Racing’s No. 85 Mercedes all qualified outside of the top ten, while Land Motorsport was classified 22nd as the lowest-placed GT3 contender.

The Hankook 24H Barcelona kicks off Saturday at 12 p.m. CEST (6 a.m. EDT).
