Next month’s Six Hours of Fuji will see a new name on the side of the Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN-Nissan as Gainer has joined forces with the British squad for the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship round.

The Japanese squad, which currently campaigns a pair of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3s in the Super GT series, will be the entrant for Greaves’ LMP2 entry for the Fuji round.

Katsuyuki Hiranaka, Masayuki Ueda and Swede Björn Wirdheim have been named as drivers, all three coming from Gainer’s GT300 program. Wirdheim drove the Greaves Zytek-Nissan in the Six Hours of Sao Paulo last month.

“This is an exciting development for Greaves Motorsport,” team manager Jacob Greaves said. “Gainer are one of the best teams running in the highly competitive Super GT series and for them to pick us as their partner is a huge compliment.

“I am sure that Gainer’s local knowledge will help enormously in getting the best set up for the car. We are really looking forward to the race at Fuji and to achieving a top result.”

Also bolstering the Fuji entry is the return of a second Toyota TS030 Hybrid in LMP1, while Japanese driver Shinji Nakano rejoins G-Drive Racing by Delta-ADR.
