Zandvoort will return to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup calendar after a one-year absence, while the date and location for the Endurance Cup finale remains yet to be determined.
The Dutch circuit most recently formed a regular fixture of the Sprint Cup calendar from 2019 to 2023 and last year hosted the season finale, during which Ricardo Feller and Mattia Drudi were crowned champions.
Along with Valencia, it disappeared off the calendar for the 2024 season, but SRO Motorsports Group confirmed during its annual press conference at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa that both venues will be back on the schedule next year.
Zandvoort will host the second round of Sprint Cup on May 16-18, while Valencia is on the schedule for Sept. 19-21.
Magny-Cours, meanwhile, is set to drop off the calendar after this year. It previously featured from 2020-22.
No new other venues feature on either the Endurance or Sprint Cup calendars, although the date and location for the Endurance Cup finale will be determined at a later date.
SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stephane Ratel indicated during the press conference that the series will first evaluate the inaugural edition of its Jeddah season finale before locking in the final slot on the calendar for 2025.
“The situation is that we are discussing with everybody including our partners in Saudi,” he told reporters.
“We decided we go this year and we’ll see how it goes. It will be a big event. We will see the satisfaction of our competitors and the satisfaction of our event promoter.
“Of course the intention is to continue but we prefer to leave it like this at the moment and decide and announce after this year’s event what we will do for next year.
“We are working on another alternative and then we will say, probably at the SRO Prize Giving, if we return to Jeddah or we go.”
The Endurance Cup season kicks off with the traditional opener at Paul Ricard in April, with the 24H Spa set for June 26-29.
With the next year’s edition of the Nürburgring 24 set to take place on June 21-22 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans scheduled for June 14-15, it means that all three major 24-hour races will be held on consecutive weekends next year.
The third Endurance Cup round takes place at Monza on May 30-June 1, thus moving the event up from the September date it occupies on this year’s calendar.
The Nürburgring date, meanwhile, has been moved from July to August.
