AO Racing has confirmed that Michael Christensen will team up with Laurin Heinrich for the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Motul Petit Le Mans, while Julien Andlauer rejoins to form a three-driver lineup for the season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Christensen and Heinrich will pilot the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R for the six-hour IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup round on Sept. 22, with the Dane returning to the team for the first time since the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Cadillac.
The Porsche Hypercar driver also competed with AO at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where they finished second in class in GTD Pro.
At Petit Le Mans, the finale to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, Heinrich and Christensen will be joined by French racer Andlauer.
Andlauer first joined the team at Road America when he replaced the outgoing Seb Priaulx before Klaus Bachler stood in at VIR as a result of a clash with the European Le Mans Series.
In addition to setting its lineup for the remaining two races, AO also confirmed that ‘Rexy’ will return to action at Indianapolis and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta after ‘Roxy’ stood in during the previous two sprint rounds.
“Roxy did a great job for us in the last two races, but Rexy is excited to be back for the remainder of the season,” said team principal Gunnar Jeannette.
“Rexy is rested and ready for this last push. Our team is strong in the endurance races, and we feel good about our chances of fighting for the title.
“Both Michael and Julien have been great additions to our lineup, and we’re excited to have them in for the end.”
AO Racing currently leads the GTD Pro standings by 17 points over Heart of Racing Team with two races to go.
