Phantom Global Racing has revealed a Pink Pig-inspired retro livery for next month’s Suzuka 1000km, also revealing Dorian Boccolacci, Klaus Bachler and Patric Niederhauser will form an all-Pro lineup for the revived Intercontinental GT Challenge race.
The No. 23 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be decked out in a color scheme paying tribute to the Porsche 917/20 that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1971, which was last seen when the Stuttgart marque captured a GTE-Pro class victory at Le Mans seven years ago.
It has been hinted that Phantom Global’s entry will not be the only one with a one-off scheme, with Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific (PMAP) stating that “selected Porsche cars will be running special liveries” at the event on Sept. 12-14.
Notably, Phantom Global has changed the number of its entry to further suit the historic livery, utilizing the number 23 that was also used on the original car in 1971. Its two cars were listed with No. 3 and No. 13 on the original entry list.
Boccolacci, who is PMAP’s selected driver and also drives for Phantom Global in GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS, will be joined by fellow Porsche racers Bachler and Niederhauser. None of the three drivers were on the grid for the previous two IGTC rounds at Suzuka in 2018 and 2019.
Phantom Global, meanwhile, will be tackling a IGTC round for the third time in the team’s history. Last year, it competed in both the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour and the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, notably finishing fourth overall in the former.
“We’re delighted to once again work with Phantom Global Racing as the team competes in a third Intercontinental GT Challenge race,” said Alexandre Gibot, PMAP managing director.
“The squad delivered impressive performances in 2024 in the Bathurst 12 Hour and Spa 24 Hours.
“They’ve continued this form in 2025, securing podiums in GT World Challenge Asia and are currently leading the championship in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Dorian alongside Klaus and Patric, forming an excellent line-up, and in a car inspired by an iconic heritage Porsche livery, that can challenge for great results.”
