Nico Pino put JDC-Miller Motorsports’ 2025-spec Porsche 963 on top in the fifth and final session for GTP class machinery at the Roar Before the Rolex 24.
The Chilean driver reeled off a 1:37.099 in the lone-remaining privateer entry in top-class prototype competition to edge out the pair of factory Penske Porsches in the 60-minute session.
Pino’s chart-topping lap was 0.055 seconds quicker than the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport entry of Kevin Estre, with two-time and defending Rolex 24 at Daytona overall winner Felipe Nasr third quickest.
The pair of Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.Rs completed the top-five, led by the No. 10 entry of Ricky Taylor.
BMW Team WRT’s two M Hybrid V8s were next in line, in sixth and seventh, ahead of the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac in eighth.

Habul Blitzes GTD Pro Field in 75 Express Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo
While Joey Hand ended up fastest of all the GT cars aboard the GTD class No. 66 Gradient Racing Ford Mustang GT3 EVO, it was FIA Bronze-rated driver Kenny Habul who was quickest of all the GTD Pro runners.
The 75 Express team owner/driver blitzed the GTD Pro field in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, reeling off a 1:47.421 lap time to go quickest in the largely factory or works-supported class.
Habul outpaced the likes of Christopher Mies and defending GTD Pro class champion Antonio Garcia, who ended up second and third in class for Ford Multimatic Motorsports and Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports, respectively.
The 60-minute session saw a red flag with 20 minutes to go when the No. 64 Multimatic Mustang GT3 EVO of Mike Rockenfeller stopped on the apron of NASCAR Turn 2.
Track action came to an early end with less than five minutes on the clock when the No. 21 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo of Antonio Fuoco stopped on track, almost in the same location as Rockenfeller.
There were several other incidents that didn’t bring out a red, including spins for Jon Field and Kaku Ohta in the Le Mans Chicane.
The final WeatherTech Championship test session, reserved for FIA Bronze-rated drivers only, is set to run from 2:30-4 p.m. ET.
