Habul Blitzes Field in Final Friday Practice

Kenny Habul was quickest in the fourth and final practice session of the day for the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, in the second dedicated session for FIA Bronze-rated drivers or Silvers new to Mount Panorama.

The 75 Express team owner/driver stormed to a chart-topping 2:04.906 in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, outpacing the No. 55 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II of Brad Schumacher by more than six-tenths.

Habul’s time, his personal best around Mount Panorama, was just one second slower than Friday’s outright fastest lap produced by 2024 Repco Supercars champion Will Brown.

The No. 45 RAM Motorsport/GWR Australia Mercedes-AMG of Garth Walden was third quickest, while the No. 89 Team KRC BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Cunfan Ruan and the Johannes Zelger-driven No. 79 Tsunami RT Porsche 911 GT3 R.

The 40-minute session ended with six minutes to go after Graeme Dowsett spun and slammed his No. 7 Team NZ Aston Martin Vantage GT4 into the wall at Reid Park after slight contact with the No. 21 Herberth Motorsport Porsche of Alfred Renauer.

Two one-hour all-skate practice sessions are on tap for Saturday prior to qualifying, with Practice 5 first up at 8:05 a.m. local time (Fri., 4:05 p.m. ET).
