JMF Motorsports will expand into a two-car Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo operation in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, it has been announced.

Michai Stephens and Mercedes-AMG factory driver Mikael Grenier will continue at the wheel of the No. 34 entry in the Pro class but will now be joined by Jason Daskalos and Lorcan Hanafin in the No. 27 Mercedes-AMG.

Daskalos moves his Mercedes-AMG program over from CRP Racing, which contested all but the season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS last year.

“JMF is pleased to welcome the No. 27 Mercedes-AMG to our awning,” said team CEO Danny Kok. “Both Jason and Lorcan are very accomplished drivers, and we look forward to this powerful driver pairing.”

Daslalos added: “I am really excited for the upcoming GT World Challenge America season.

“We are confident that we have the car, team and driver lineup to put us in a position to win, and we can’t wait to get started.”

Hanafin, who took part in the second half of the FIA World Endurance Championship season in one of Iron Lynx’s Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 entries, will be making his GTWC America debut.

The 23-year-old Briton also took part in a season of GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in Steller Motorsports’ Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R last year.

“After racing extensively in Europe, I am excited to join the American series,” said Hanafin. “With our combined experience, we are expecting a great season.”

JMF’s No. 34 entry finished runner-up in the Pro championship last year with four wins and 11 podium finishes.

“Mik and Michai will be strong contenders in the Pro Class, and we are looking forward getting back to racing and starting the season off at Sonoma,” added Kok.

The new-look season, with single three-hour feature races, kick off at Sonoma Raceway on March 27-29.
