Max Verstappen will take advantage of the break in the Formula 1 schedule to tackle the N24 Qualifiers ahead of his debut appearance in this year’s Nürburgring 24.

The four-time F1 champion won what was effectively the opening round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie on the road in his Winward-run Verstappen Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo last month, alongside Jules Gounon and Dani Juncadella, but they were later stripped of the NLS2 victory after using an additional set of tires compared to the permitted number in the regulations.

That event’s date was brought forward by a week to enable Verstappen to take part ahead of his N24 appearance on May 16-17, but the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian F1 races in the wake of the war in the Middle East has now enabled the Dutchman to add the N24 Qualifiers to his diary.

He is due to enter the pair of four-hour races on April 18-19 at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG alongside Lucas Auer, as both Gounon and Juncadella are due to be competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship at Imola on that weekend.

It was announced earlier this year that Verstappen would contest the N24 with Auer, Gounon and Juncadella after a victorious NLS9 GT3 debut last season.
