Mercedes-AMG Motorsport achieved a historic milestone last weekend, with the 1,000th win since the launch of its customer racing program in 2010.

Team KRT’s Vincent Iogna scored victory in Friday evening’s first race of the Ultimate GT Sprint Cup weekend at Mugello at the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, in what was described as a commanding run for the Frenchman.

The win tally for the German manufacturer spans four different models, which began with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in 2010, followed by the Mercedes-AMG GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT4 and Mercedes-AMG GT2.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 has been the most victorious with 612 wins, followed by the GT4 variant with 195 triumphs.

More than 100 teams and over 400 drivers have contributed to the success across six continents and 34 countries.

“This milestone is a testament to the impressive track record of our customer racing program and fills us with great joy and pride,” said Head of Mercedes-AMG customer racing Stefan Wendl.

“Since its launch in 2010, the program has been built up with great passion and has been continuously developed. 1,000 victories across 34 countries are a testament to the international strength and sustainable growth of our customer racing program.

“The sporting successes achieved on racetracks around the world are above all thanks to our customer racing teams and the many drivers who compete with Mercedes-AMG racing cars internationally.

“At the same time, this anniversary success motivates us to continue writing the success story of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.”

The milestone victory was the result of a journey that began almost 16 years ago with the first customer racing car from Affalterbach.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 claimed its maiden overall victory in the ninth round of the former VLN series on Oct. 16. 2010 with Christopher Haase and Thomas Jager, in what came in only the second outing for the gull-winged car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife before deliveries to customers began the following year.

Less than three years later, the program celebrated its 100th overall victory, which came in the 2013 running of the 24 Hours of Spa with HTP Motorsport, the predecessor of the current Winward Racing operation, with drivers Maxi Buhk, Maxi Goetz and Bernd Schneider.

With the introduction of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in 2016, the customer racing program was further expanded and was followed up by the Evo version of the car.

The Mercedes-AMG GT4 debuted in 2017, before the Mercedes-AMG GT2 launched in 2022.

The brand’s track record includes wins at the 24 Hours of Spa (2013, 2022), Nürburgring 24 (2013, 2016, 2026), and Bathurst 12 Hour (2013, 2022, 2023, 2026), along with five triumphs in the FIA GT World Cup in Macau.
