Alex Job Racing has added Andrew Davis to the driver line-up of the No. 22 WeatherTech Racing GTD Porsche 911 GT America for the North American Endurance Championship events of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
Davis completes the line-up with season regulars Cooper MacNeil and Leh Keen. Shane Van Gisbergen rejoins the team for the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona, Jan. 22-25.
Davis is the 2011 Rolex Series GT Champion and brings a resume that includes nine wins, 25 podiums and five pole positions to the No. 22 WeatherTech Porsche.
He will join the team starting at the Roar Before the 24 weekend in preparation for the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona. Davis reunites with former Brumos Porsche teammate Leh Keen.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join Alex Job Racing to contest the four rounds of the North American Endurance Championship,” Davis said. “It has always been a goal of mine to drive for AJR, a team with such a rich history in sports car racing.
“It’s truly an honor to be asked to join Cooper and Leh for the long races, and I’m really looking forward to running with such a winning organization. The No. 22 WeatherTech Porsche was the class of the field during the 2014 season, and the crew is currently hard at work to make the program even stronger for 2015. I want to thank Alex, Cooper and David MacNeil for making this a reality.
“There is certainly a special homecoming of sorts in having the chance to be paired back up with Leh Keen. We are very close friends, and shared a special time together when we took the Rolex Series Championship for Brumos Racing back in 2011. We had a lot of great races together, but the manner in which we captured the championship at the finale at Mid-Ohio is something that neither of us will forget.
“In addition to Leh, I am getting back together with a bunch of former teammates that make up an excellent AJR squad. I know that they will make me feel right at home, and we can get right down to business!”
Team owner Alex Job has all of the pieces in place for the 22 for 2015.
“With WeatherTech behind us, we are in a position to be able to make quick decisions,” Job said. “As soon as the driver ratings were released we went right to work on getting the best possible combination to give ourselves the greatest opportunity for success.
“Andrew brings a wealth of experience and speed behind the wheel of a Porsche and we are looking forward to having a very competitive 2015 season.”
