Hampus Ericsson and Nick Persing picked up their second Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America victory of the season in Saturday’s second round of the weekend at Road America.

Ericsson took the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 to a 0.799-second win over Dennis Lind in the No. 29 TR3 Racing entry in the 50-minute contest.

It came after Friday’s race-winning No. 33 XONINE Racing entry of Darius Trinka and Will Bamber dropped out early with an alternator failure.

Persing led the race from the green, despite a challenge from Giano Taurino, who ran wide into Turn 5 on the opening lap.

An accident for Cooper Broll in the No. 47 Precision Performance Motorsports entry at the Kink brought out the race’s only full-course caution on Lap 5.

Action restarted with 25 minutes to go, but the No. 1 WTR Lamborghini remained on top through the mandatory pit stop and driver changes.

The duo’s only other Pro class win came in the first round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in May.

Lind’s second place finish helped keep co-driver Elias De La Torre atop the championship standings, while the No. 2 RAFA Racing Team Lamborghini of Tyler Gonzalez and Niko Porto completed the podium in third.

Pro-Am class honors came down to a late-race battle between Chloe Chambers and Seth Henry, the latter who spun while side-by-side with two minutes to go while previously leading.

With the incident not having been under review, Chambers and co-driver Ian Porter picked up the win in their No. 81 RAFA Lamborghini.

It broke a seven-race undefeated win streak in class by the No. 10 WTR entry of Danny Formal and Graham Doyle, following a drive-through penalty for Doyle for incident responsibility with the 89x Motorsports Lamborghini of Mike Fitzpatrick.

Formal and Doyle finished fifth in class.

The No. 45 PPM Lamborghini of Gabriel Holguin picked up the class win in Am, while Philippe Touchette took the win in LB Cup in his TB Autosports entry.
