A total of 44 cars are set for next weekend’s TireRack Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in the first sprint round for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at The Brickyard since 2023.

Released on Wednesday, the entry list features 11 GTP class machines, ten LMP2 and GTD Pro cars apiece and 13 GTD entries for the two-hour and 40-minute contest.

The biggest change, as reported earlier today, is Laurin Heinrich replacing Laurens Vanthoor in the No. 6 Penske Porsche 963, meaning the young German driver will now complete the season with the factory squad.

Nico Mueller will take Heinrich’s spot in the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports entry alongside full season driver Tijmen van der Helm.

While Intersport Racing is not listed in LMP2, Era Motorsport’s entry is but with a to-be-announced driver alongside FIA Bronze-rated driver Nick Boulle.

Both teams were not present at the only other LMP2 sprint race of the season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in July.

The GTD Pro and GTD classes see no changes from the most recent Michelin GT Challenge round at Virginia International Raceway.

It includes the No. 68 YRB Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo of Valentin Hasse-Clot and Marco Sorensen, who remain in the top production-based class.

The penultimate round of the WeatherTech Championship season is set for Sept. 20.
