Aitken Ahead With Two Hours Remaining at Petit

No. 31 Action Express Cadillac leads under caution with two hours remaining…

IMSA GTP championship-elect Jack Aitken in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R led Motul Petit Le Mans with two hours remaining.

Aitken paced the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8 driven by Robin Frijns. The Dutchman came back from a spin in Turn 10b earlier in his stint.

The No. 6 Penske Porsche 963 of Kevin Estre ran third with teammate Laurin Heinrich in fourth. 

Nick Yelloly brought out two full course yellows in the past three hours. His incident with two hours and 53 minutes to go out of Turn 12 retired the No. 93 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 in its final race in IMSA competition. 

The eight-hour mark began under caution when the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche piloted by Tijman van der Helm spun and stopped in Turn 10a.

Class championship leader Toby Sowery led LMP2 in the CrowdStrike Racing by APR Oreca 07 Gibson over title rival Tom Dillmann in the the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition entry. 

Parker Thompson received a drive-through penalty in the No. 52 Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Oreca from the lead with incident responsibility. The Canadian driver currently runs fifth in class. 

The No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. of Antonio Garcia led GTD Pro by less than a second over the No. 77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo driven by Nick Tandy.

Dan Harper in the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO holds the class championship lead at the eight-hour mark.

Nikita Johnson was forced to retire the No. 59 RLL McLaren 720S GT3 EVO from damage sustained in contact with Harper.

Thomas Preining and Harry King made contact out of Turn 10b with three hours and six minutes to go and King ran off-track. Race control gave Preining a drive-through for incident responsibility, handing the race and championship lead to the No. 4 Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

King and Harper jumped the No. 4 Corvette of Nico Varrone on pit road after the Yelloly crash. The No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 now leads the GTD Pro championship.

Callum Ilott led GTD in the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche. He runs ahead of class title-leading No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and Lars Kern in the 13 Autosport Corvette. 

The No. 16 Myers Riley Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 EVO of Felipe Fraga retired after contact with Morris Schuring and Jake Walker in Turn 11 at the halfway point. 

Walker brought out a full course yellow a few minutes after the incident when he stuck his No. 66 Gradient Racing Mustang in the grass on pit exit.

Antonio Fuoco made contact with Lorenzo Patrese on the front straight and found the outside wall with two-and-a-half hours to go.

The No. 34 Conquest Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo was running in third before the incident. Fuoco was given a stop-and-hold plus 60-second penalty.
