Manthey, the majority owned subsidiary of Porsche, has revealed two limited edition Porsche race cars to mark the company’s 30th anniversary.

Revealed on Friday at the DTM season finale in Hockenheim, the legendary German race team and performance tuning company took the wraps off the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 and Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30.

Both are limited to 15 units each, totaling 30 cars to mark the anniversary, and will available for sale in key markets, including in the U.S. from Porsche Motorsport North America.

“Both cars exemplify the way development takes place at Manthey: driven by specific customer requirements and motorsport projects,” said Manthey Racing GmbH managing director Nicolas Raeder.

“They were not created to celebrate an anniversary, but for use on the racetrack.

“The fact that we are now able to offer the results of these two development paths as limited-edition special models makes them a particularly fitting way to conclude our 30th anniversary year.”

The Type-992.1 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 features an enlarged 4.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, bringing the power output to more than 550 horsepower.

The larger engine is complemented by a comprehensive aerodynamics and cooling package, which has already proven its capabilities in customer racing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The front end, including the wings and hood, as well as the rear bodywork, wheel arch extensions, rear lid and rear wing, are made from recycled carbon fiber (CfK) and are designed to optimize airflow and increase downforce.

As with earlier Cup MR generations based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of the 991.1 and 991.2 generations, a central radiator layout is used.

The aerodynamically optimized brake cooling system, featuring significantly enlarged air inlets, reduces the thermal strain on the components and thus extends their operating life.

Further aerodynamic enhancements include a front splitter with an integrated underbody, additional flics and a newly developed rear wing with enlarged end plates and modified wing mounting.

The end plates feature an exclusive ‘30 Years of Manthey’ design.

The new rear wing mounting also allows for the integration of an aerodynamically optimised air intake, a concept already used in the 911 GT3 Cup MR (991.2).

Wheel arch extensions create space for a track width increase of 20 millimetres on the front axle and 50 millimetres on the rear axle.

The lightweight wheel set, manufactured in Manthey’s own forged wheel production facility and featuring an exclusive 30th-anniversary design, offers an additional weight saving of 3.8 kgs.

Also included is a six-directional coilover suspension with optimized spring rates, as well as modified kinematics on the front and rear axles.

A bespoke ‘30 Years of Manthey’ badge and anniversary lettering are also embroidered into the seats.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30 brings together a decade of Cayman-based race car development at Manthey, while also marking the end of the platform in GT4 racing.

The MR 30 model features extensive carbon fiber bodywork components, together with the lightweight wheel set, developed specifically for this special edition and also manufactured in-house, which reduces the vehicle’s weight by a total of 5.7 kg compared with the base model.

The lightweight carbon fiber components include fenders with lightweight headlights, a hood with central radiator vent, front bumper and front splitter, as well as a redesigned rear section featuring a rear bumper, boot lid with lightweight window and rear wing.

A carbon diffuser and additional flics at the front also provide extra downforce.

As with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30, the cooling concept is based on a central radiator layout and is complemented by optimised brake cooling, with brake air ducts derived from developments on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport EVO.

As part of this validation process, the vehicle concept achieved  a top-20 overall finish at the Nürburgring 24 this year.,

Exclusive anniversary details can also be found on the car, both on the exterior and interior of the car.

Order requests for the two special edition models will be accepted until Oct. 30, with final allocation and deliveries set for the beginning of November for the Cayman and the first quarter of next year for the 911 GT3 Cup.

Prices for both models have not been disclosed.
