Westin Workman claimed pole for the first Pirelli GT4 America race of the weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, while the grid for Race 2 will be determined based on times from second practice due to a timing and scoring system failure.

Workman drove his No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 to a chart-topping 1:29.849 in Q1 to edge out the No. 131 Advance Motorsports McLaren Artura GT4 of Austin Jurs by 0.134 seconds.

Silver class points leader Spencer Pumpelly qualified third in the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Allen Patten took Pro-Am class pole honors in the No. 39 Dome Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4, while Michael Garcia drove his No. 21 ACI Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 EVO to the pole in the Am category.

A red flag in Q1 for the No. 72 RAFA Racing Toyota of Anthony Geraci, which stopped in the final corner, led to a mid-session interruption, but saw the session resume with eight minutes to go.

Q2, meanwhile, was abandoned after the timing and scoring issues that also led to a delayed start of qualifying for the headline Desder Indianapolis 8 Hour.

The GT4 America grid Sunday’s Race 2 will be set by Practice 2 times set by the designated Driver 2, with a grid yet to be published.

Race 1 gets underway Saturday at 10 a.m. EST, with the season finale set for a 10:25 a.m. EST start on Sunday, with both races to be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
