Development of the new BMW M6 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3-R continue, with both of the new-generation GT3 models testing today at the Nürburgring.
The German manufacturers have continued to utilize the Nordschleife circuit for durability and performance testing, in what’s been a busy summer’s worth of development for all new GT machinery.
Both the M6 and 911 GT3-R, along with all other 2016-spec GT3 and GTE cars, will undergo FIA Balance of Performance testing next month at Michelin’s Ladoux test track in France, which will essentially freeze the configuration of each model for the coming year.
The Ladoux test will see both GT3 and GTE-spec configurations of the BMW M6, the latter which is believed to not have begun on-track testing.
