Cumming Joins Team SARD-Morand for 6H Fuji

Chris Cumming is set to become the latest North American-based driver to try his hand in the FIA World Endurance Championship, having been confirmed with Team SARD-Morand for next month’s Six Hours of Fuji.

The Canadian pilot is listed alongside the Swiss squad’s full-season drivers Pierre Ragues and Oliver Webb for the Japanese round, which will mark Cumming’s first start in a normal-distance WEC race.

Cumming, a regular in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship with RSR Racing, made his 24 Hours of Le Mans debut in June behind the wheel of an OAK Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda.

This time, he’ll trade the  Onroak Automotive-built prototype coupe for the French constructor’s open-top Morgan-Judd.

He takes the seat of Archie Hamilton, who was named the team’s third driver for the Nurburgring and COTA rounds.

The Six Hours of Fuji is set for Oct. 9-11.
