Aston Martin’s 2016 GTE challenger was spotted testing on Wednesday at Estoril, as development continues for the heavily revised Vantage V8, which broke cover earlier this month.
The car, which features significant aero updates, conforms to the FIA and ACO’s new set of regulations, which are focused on performance windows, and allow for larger styling cues.
In addition to the AMR test car, Beechdean Motorsport’s 2014-spec Aston Martin Vantage was also in attendance at the test in Portugal, ahead of its planned race debut in the European Le Mans Series season finale next month.
Unconfirmed reports have indicated that Aston Martin Racing could debut the 2016-spec car in January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, prior to its full-season, multi-car effort in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
