Corey Lewis’ hectic two-week driving stint in Florida comes to a conclusion this weekend, with the final four races of the season during the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo World Final at Sebring.

Lewis arrived in Daytona last week for testing with his Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge team, Goldcrest Motorsports-run Strategic Wealth Racing, then sampled the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 during this week’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship test at Daytona and has now made it to Sebring.

Fortunately for the 24-year-old from Nazareth, Pa., having clinched the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America Pro-Am class title at Road Atlanta takes the pressure off heading into Friday’s final two U.S. races, before full focus shifts to the World Final on Saturday.

“It comes down to endurance and survival at this point,” Lewis told Sportscar365. “It’s a bit of weight off my shoulders to have clinched the championship for North America in Road Atlanta.

“So we’ll get through the North American races first. Anything we can learn for the World Final, setup-wise, we will try to apply it.”

Lewis enters Sebring this week with eight straight wins in the Pro-Am category, driving the No. 29 Monster Energy-backed Change Racing Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 for the Lamborghini Carolinas dealer.

A four-race weekend actually hasn’t been unusual for Lewis this weekend. On weekends where both the Continental Tire Challenge and Lamborghini ST were on the same schedule, Lewis had at least three races to run – in some cases, two or three on the same day.

Sebring in March marked his first start with his Continental Tire Challenge team, and also his last IMSA weekend where he wasn’t pulling double duty, as he did at Mazda Raceway, Watkins Glen, VIR, Circuit of The Americas and Road Atlanta.

He returns to Sebring now with just his Lamborghini team, the Robby Benton-led Change team. It’s a track Lewis has experience in in multiple cars, as he seeks to continue his hot streak this week.

“I’ve been here a few years between Star Mazda, LMPC, the Porsche in Continental and now the Huracán,” Lewis said.

“They’re all different animals. This is certainly of the most physical cars I’ve driven here. The bumps are extremely hectic inside the car.

“So you have to manage the grip levels. Overall, the car is really dialed in. There’s more time to be had but so far, so good.”

Like many within the IMSA paddock, Lewis is not only trying to finish 2015 strong but also attempting to figure out his 2016 plans. The Silver-rated driver is maintaining the balancing act, hunting while driving.

“It’s a bit wild to be honest, and stressful. But I love every second of it,” he said. “It’s a hectic end of season, and not much of an offseason. You always have to make progress.”

Lewis hailed the Change team, which this week runs three cars as Jake Rattenbury rejoins in a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 alongside Lewis and Justin Marks, for how far it’s come this year.

“As a team as a whole, we’ve come such a long way from beginning of season to where we are now,” he said. “We’re gelling the best we ever have.”
