Jacques, Pierre Nicolet Headline Eurasia 24H Le Mans Lineup

Jacques and Pierre Nicolet have been confirmed alongside Erik Maris in Eurasia Motorsport’s Ligier JS P217 Gibson for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The father-and-son pairing, who competed together in last year’s European Le Mans Series in LMP3, are set to take on the French endurance classic with the Mark Goddard-led team, which received the LMP2 entry courtesy of its participation in the 2016-17 Asian Le Mans Series.

In addition to its maiden run at Le Mans, the Asian-based team also contested the European Le Mans Series in 2016 but has not returned to the championship this year.

British cycling Olympian Sir Chris Hoy was initially listed as the nominated driver in Eurasia’s entry, but is no longer part of the lineup.

“We are delighted to further cement our relationship with Ligier, having run the 2015-16 Asian Le Mans LMP3 Championship winning Ligier along with victory in the 2016 Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup,” Goddard said.

“Our aim is to finish what will be as ever a grueling race. With two bronze drivers, our expectations are realistic, however, a trouble-free run can pay huge dividends and we want to make sure we are there at the flag with Ligier.”

It will be the only all-Am LMP2 driver lineup in the race, with Pierre, the President of Onroak Automotive North America, set for his Le Mans debut.
