Jordan Taylor turned in a fast lap late in the final session for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the Roar Before the 24, but Felipe Nasr’s qualifying time kept Action Express Racing at the top of the combined charts.
Taylor’s time of 1:36.757 in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R was 0.357 seconds faster than Mike Conway’s best effort in the No. 31 Cadillac for AXR, but Nasr’s time of 1:35.806 in that car remained the benchmark for the weekend.
Antonio Felix da Costa posted the third-best time of Session 7 in the No. 78 Oreca 07 Gibson for Jackie Chan DCR JOTA, followed by Pato O’Ward’s Oreca for Performance Tech.
Laurens Vanthoor ended the final session quickest of the GT Le Mans runners in the No 912 Porsche 911 RSR but was slower than Joey Hand’s time from Qualifying in the No. 66 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT.
Vanthoor’s teammate Fred Makowiecki was second in the last session driving the No. 911 Porsche, with the Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs of Jan Magnussen and Tommy Milner next in line.
In GT Daytona, the No. 11 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 held down the quickest lap in class from the end of the first session while Ezequiel Perez Companc set the pace in the seventh and final session of the Roar driving in the team’s sister No. 19 entry.
AJ Allmendinger came 0.019 seconds short of Companc’s session-leading effort in the No. 86 Acura NSX GT3 for Michael Shank Racing, with Franck Perera’s Lamborghini and Come Ledogar’s Acura all within a tenth of a second of the best time in class.
