Madison Snow will not return to Paul Miller Racing next year, it has been announced, with the 22-year-old set to take a step back from racing to focus on his family’s business.

It comes in the wake of Snow’s IMSA-adjusted driver rating to Gold for 2019 following he and Bryan Sellers’ GT Daytona class title in the team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 this year.

While plans were in place to retain the championship-winning duo with a move to Blancpain GT World Challenge America, Snow has ultimately opted against the switch to the GT3 sprint series and will instead call time on his driving.

According to a statement from the team, Snow will leave his “hobby” of sports car racing to focus on his current role in the family business that he’s held for the last four years.

“I had a great three years racing with Paul Miller Racing and Bryan Sellers, especially now that we all share a championship together,” said Snow.

“Racing has become as much about politics as the team and drivers getting the car to the finish line every weekend.

“After a lot of broken promises and false hopes on the path to next year, when it became final that Bryan and I wouldn’t be able to defend our championship together due to my upgrade in IMSA driver rankings, I finalized my decision that I didn’t want to continue in IMSA.

“I want to thank Paul and the team for everything they’ve done, and I wish them the best for 2019 and beyond.”

Snow and Sellers combined for three wins, 13 podiums and 20 top-five finishes in its three-year stint as co-drivers in GTD.

“It’s a shame Madison won’t be with us to defend his and Bryan’s championship,” said team owner Paul Miller.

“Madison is a major talent, and it has been amazing to watch him develop these last few seasons. He’s a great team member and we will miss him, but we understand and respect his decision.”

It’s unclear if the team will remain in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship or still make the move to Blancpain GT America, as revealed by Sportscar365 earlier this week.
