Gunnar Jeannette will make his prototype racing comeback in next month’s 1000 Miles of Sebring, having been confirmed as the final driver in Larbre Competition’s lineup in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s return to the Florida airfield circuit.

Jeannette is set to join Erwin Creed and Romano Ricci at the wheel of the French squad’s Ligier JS P217 Gibson.

It will mark the Gold-rated driver’s first prototype start since 2014 when he took part in the full IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season in a Prototype Challenge class PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports entry.

Jeannette will become the sixth different driver in as many races to take the third seat in Larbre’s LMP2 contender.

Julian Canal joined Creed and Ricci for the season-opener at Spa, followed by Thomas Dagoneau at Le Mans, Yoshiharu Mori at Silverstone, Keiko Ihara in Fuji and Enzo Guibbert in Shanghai.

Ried Confirmed at Proton; Set to Maintain Start Streak

Other changes to the the final version of the entry list for Sebring include confirmation of Christian Ried in the No. 77 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR in GTE-Am.

Ried, who was set for a full-season effort, was initially not listed in the car, which came in the wake of sanctions taken upon his team that stripped he, Matt Campbell and Julien Andlauer of all points prior to Shanghai.

The two-time and defending Porsche Cup champion will seek to continue his streak of contesting every WEC race since its launch in 2012.

Both Ried and Andre Lotterer were the only drivers to hold that feat, with the ex-Audi and Porsche LMP1 factory driver set to miss Sebring due to Formula E sim testing commitments.
