The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo has been hit with a hefty weight increase ahead of next weekend’s Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio.

It comes in the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments by IMSA, which sees weight breaks for both the Audi R8 LMS Evo and Mercedes-AMG GT3, as well as the starting BoP established for the debuting McLaren 720S GT3.

The Lamborghini, which won the opening two rounds of the GT Daytona season with Grasser Racing Team, will be 30 kg heavier for Mid-Ohio, with the minimum weight increased from 1300 to 1330 kg.

It compares to the Audi, which has been given a 25 kg weight break, bringing the car down to 1355 kg, with the Mercedes now at 1380 kg, thanks to a 20kg reduction for the heaviest car in the class.

Fuel capacity adjustments have also been handed out to four cars, with the Lamborghini and Lexus RC F GT3 getting a 1-liter reduction and the Mercedes gaining 2 liters and Porsche 911 GT3 R getting 1 additional liter.

The McLaren, which makes its North American debut, meanwhile, has been baselined with a minimum weight of 1320 kg and a 8,000 RPM limit.

Its turbo boost ratio has also been established, following a test by Compass Racing at Mid-Ohio earlier this month that was overseen by IMSA’s technical department.

No changes have been announced for the DPi or GT Le Mans class cars ahead of the first two-hour and 40-minute race of the season on May 5.
