High Class Racing has completed its 24 Hours of Le Mans driver lineup with the addition of former Rebellion Racing LMP1 driver Mathias Beche.

The 32-year-old Swiss will share the Danish squad’s Oreca 07 Gibson with its full-time European Le Mans Series drivers Anders Fjordbach and Dennis Andersen.

Beche contested the opening six rounds of the 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship ‘Super Season’ with Rebellion but was left out of the team’s lineup for the final two rounds at Spa and Le Mans.

His place in the No. 3 Rebellion R13 Gibson has been taken up by Nathanael Berthon, who will partner Gustavo Menezes and Thomas Laurent for the French long-distance classic.

Beche is now set for his seventh consecutive Le Mans appearance and his second in the Oreca 07 Gibson, which Rebellion ran in the 2017 edition.

“I am delighted to join High Class Racing for the Le Mans 24 Hours, and I would like to thank Rebellion Racing for allowing me to compete with them,” said Beche.

“I will bring the experience from my successes in the past and help Anders, Dennis and the team to get the best out of our package.”

High Class Racing, which stepped up to LMP2 competition in 2017, is preparing for its Le Mans debut this year after being promoted to the main grid from the reserve list.

Fjordbach and Andersen currently sit ninth in the ELMS standings after the opening round at Paul Ricard last month.
