The No. 80 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo has withdrawn from this weekend’s GT World Challenge America powered by AWS round at Sonoma Raceway, reducing the field to seven cars.

The Kyle Marcelli and Martin Barkey-driven entry, which won Race 1 at Virginia International Raceway last month, will not take part due to “logistical difficulties with COVID-19 and restrictions and quarantine requirements” according to a team statement.

The Canadian duo have faced increased travel issues due to the current border closure and mandatory 14-day quarantine upon return to Canada.

Both drivers are “healthy” according to the team.

Racers Edge will field only a single Acura for Trent Hindman and Shelby Blackstock this weekend, in what will mark the lowest-ever car count in series history.

Practice gets underway Friday morning.
